About WP Team X

WP Team X is a small, independent site about building WordPress websites: which themes and plugins to use, how to install and set them up, and what goes wrong along the way. We test what we write about on a real WordPress install and publish what we measured.

The history of this domain

Shouldn't you know who's behind a site before you take its advice? We think so, so here's the short version.

• From 2022: wpteamx.com belonged to a WordPress theme studio. It hosted theme demos on subdomains (NewsX Paper, BlogEye, Portfolio Kit, xShop and others), demos of the Magical Products Display add-on for Elementor, and a blog about WordPress themes, plugins and AI.
• Later: the site turned into a placeholder store, its hosting was suspended, and the domain expired.
• August 2026: a new owner, a small team of web developers who build WordPress sites and SaaS products, took over the domain and relaunched it as this site.

We're not the original studio, and we don't sell the themes or the add-on that used to be demoed here. Many sites still link to those old demo pages, so we kept their addresses alive with guides about the same kind of widgets and themes instead of letting them break.

What we cover

• WordPress themes for blogs, portfolios, news and stores.
• WordPress plugins for SEO, speed, security, forms and backups.
• Elementor and WooCommerce display widgets.
• Web development topics around WordPress, like hosting costs, maintenance and the tools web teams use.

How we test

Our test site is a fresh WordPress install (WordPress 7.1.3 on PHP 8.3 as of October 2026) running in WordPress Playground. We install themes and plugins from WordPress.org, take our own screenshots, and measure the default homepage each theme produces: requests, page weight, CSS and JavaScript. Version numbers, active installs and update dates come from the WordPress.org directory on the day we check. The full method is in our editorial policy.

How the site makes money

Some articles carry sponsored placements. Products can't pay to be included in our lists or to rank higher in them. New sponsored placements are labeled, and the rules are in the editorial policy. We don't use affiliate links at the moment.

Corrections and contact
